The vision of the Knoxville Tea Party is for
• A smaller government,
• that lives within its means (that means one that's fiscally responsible), and
• governs within the bounds of the Constitution.
KTP's Mission is to promote national, state, and local government consistent with our vision above, the same vision as America's Founding Fathers.
To accomplish this mission the KTP will communicate with the public, other like-minded organizations, and the government.
The issues the tea party wishes to communicate are:
1. Specify the limits of government as stated in the Constitution.
2. Discuss the impact of large government on civil liberties, economic opportunities, the harm it causes to ordinary people, and the future security of the United States.
3. Ensure fiscal policies of the government are in accordance with the Constitution.

This is old news, but it remains a major source of motivation.

In a direct insult to the TEA party groups assembled, the despots giddily marched on their way to pass the most destructive legislation ever considered by Congress. Now there are Democrats who are asserting that there have been threats of violence and the FBI is proceeding with investigations. TEA party groups are calling them on this, but the allegations being made are likely to be the first of many attempts to discredit the movement. Our uphill task will be made even harder as the Democrats try to undermine our efforts by making our opposition subject to condemnation. One of the most encouraging responses to the unsubstantiated allegations was made by Kevin Jackson on MSNBC.
UPDATE: Andrew Breitbart has offered $100,000 to anyone who can prove allegations made. See article here.

It's evident that the Congressman pretended to be spit upon, but it looks as though the protester was simply cupping his hand to focus his words. If the spitting incident actually occurred, wouldn't the police escort have stepped in immediately and arrested the man for assault?
